Our District 96 Board of Education is convening a committee to:

* Understand and clarify the original purpose of the Flexible Boundary Plan;
* Evaluate the Policy against its own stated priorities;
* Evaluate the success of the Policy in terms of equity of class size across buildings and efficiency of building use;
* Compare long-term numbers to program expectations;
* Recommend solutions and modifications to the Policy, if necessary.

Hauser PTA has been asked to provide a representative to this working committee. If you would be interested in serving on this committee, please contact Lisa Aulerich-Marciniak. The first meeting is November 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hauser library. Subsequent meetings will be scheduled to accommodate parents, staff and community members. This will be an important discussion of this key district policy. Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting, and we encourage Hauser parents to participate, but we have an immediate need for one official representative.

The next District 96 Board of Education meeting will be Tuesday, February 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Ames School. A copy of the agenda is available here.

The District 96 Board of Education will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, in the Hauser library. The Education Committee will meet at 5:00 p.m. prior to the board meeting.

Mr. Wolf will be giving a presentation to the Board about the revised 8th grade trip that will begin in 2010.

The next Board of Education Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15, 7:30 p.m., at Hauser Jr. High School’s Learning Resource Center. The Education Committee will meet prior to the general session. Although the agenda will soon be posted on the district’s website, www.district96.org, one of the agenda items will be to ”Consider elimination of Kindergarten Enrichment in 2008-09.” The Board hopes to hear comments about enrichment from future kindergarten parents prior to its decision. Please encourage parents of incoming kindergarteners to come and share their thoughts.

This month the Building Committee of the Riverside District 96 Board of Education will meet prior to the general meeting at 6:00 pm, in the multi-purpose room at Blythe Park School. Following is the agenda for the Building Committee Meeting;

* Discuss Connecting Room between Hauser and Central Schools
* Discuss Landscape Planning Process
* Impact of Enrollment Growth on Facilities
