Piano Solo Contest

All Hauser piano students who take private piano lessons are eligible to enter the piano solo contest on January 26 at Hauser. Please see Mrs. Gill for an entry form, or download from her website under “newsletters”. Entry forms are due Friday, January 15, and require a piano teacher’s signature. Students play a solo by memory for a judge and receive constructive comments about their performance.

Winter Concerts

Everyone is invited to the 5th and 6th grade band, orchestra and choir concert on Wednesday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hauser auditorium.

The following Wednesday, December 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hauser auditorium is the 7th and 8th grade band, orchestra and choir concert.

Orchestra Festival

The Hauser Orchestra will combine with the RB Orchestra for the Festival Concert on Thursday, October 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hauser auditorium. Everyone is invited to attend! The program theme is “Heroes.” Pieces include Spartacus, The William Tell Overture and The Magnificent Seven.

Little Symphony Update

Music Faculty Recital September 16

The annual District 96 Music Faculty Recital, “A Musical Travelogue,” will be held Wednesday, September 16, at 7:00pm in the Hauser Auditorium. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Leonard Babb (instrumental) and Bruce Perryman (vocal) scholarship funds, which are used by Hauser students to attend summer music camps.

The recital will feature the talents of all the District 96 music staff:

Brian Collins – Percussion
Jim Colombo – French horn
Patricia Goyette-Gill – Piano and Cello
Jane Hinlicky-Lauritsen – Soprano
William Howes – Baritone
Laura Lynch – Soprano

6th Grade Choir

6th Grade Choir begins Wednesday! Any 6th grader interested in joining choir should come on Wednesday morning, September 2, at 8:00 a.m. Ms. Lynch will meet students by the front doors. 6th Grade Choir will rehearse every Wednesday and Friday morning. No auditions are necessary.
