Target Card Gives Back to Hauser

Hauser PTA encourages parents to donate to our school with Target’s “Take Charge of Education.” By using a Target credit card, you can help Hauser just by doing your regular shopping.

  1. Visit Target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate Hauser;
  2. Use your REDcardSM (Target Visa Credit Card, Target Credit Card or Target Check Card) whenever you shop;
  3. Target will donate up to 1% of your purchases.

Since we began participating in this program, Target has given $3,946.51 (as of August 2009) to Hauser. For more information, see the attached flyer.



World Percussion Seats Available

There are four seats still available for the Adults Only World Percussion Class to be taught by Hauser’s own Mr. Brian Collins on Wednesday, February 10 from 7-9 pm. These seats are being offered for $25/seat on a first-come, first-served basis. E-mail Lisa Aulerich-Marciniak and let her know how many seats you would like.



Soup Supper/Silent Raffle Winners

Thanks to everyone who came to our Soup Supper and to everyone who participated in the Silent Raffle. We made a net profit of $1,537 ($656 from the auction and $881 from the dinner, with ticket sales of $1059 and expenses of $178.15) All of the profits from the event go to support programs and events sponsored byHauser Jr. High PTA.

Calling all Soup and Dessert Chefs!

Hauser Jr. High “Soup’s On” Family Dinner needs YOUR talent and generosity! We’re looking for individuals to showcase their culinary talent by donating a pot of their best soup or favorite dessert for the annual “Soup’s On” Family dinner fundraiser to be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010, in the Hauser Jr. High School Cafeteria, from 5-7 p.m.

If cooking is not your strong suit but you’re eager to help out, we’re also looking for donations of gift baskets, sporting event tickets, theater or music event tickets, kids’ items, etc., for the big raffle.

Family Dinner/Fundraiser January 21

Hauser PTA’s Annual Soup’s On Family Dinner will be held on Thursday, January 21, 5-7 p.m., in the Hauser Jr. High Cafeteria, 65 Woodside Road. Family, friends, community members: Please join us for a fun and delicious dinner of homemade soups, breads, and desserts. The cost of the dinner is $5.00 by advance purchase, or $7.00 at the door. Please make checks payable to “Hauser PTA” and drop your check off to PTA mailbox in the Hauser school office. Advance purchase tickets reserved in your name may be picked up at the door on the night of the event.This year, we have a couple of NEW and EXCITING silent auction items!

JUST A FEW OF THE ITEMS AVAILABLE AT THE SILENT AUCTION:
• Limited, 20-seat capacity, 2 hour, adult-only World Percussion Class, taught by the incomparable Mr. Collins.
• Reserved seating and parking for Hauser’s 2010 8th grade graduation.
• Reserved seating for Hauser’s spring play, “Casablanca.”

Collect Yoplait Yogurt Pink Lids

yoplait_lid_tThe Hauser PE department is sponsoring a collection of pink lids from Yoplait Yogurt containers to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Cancer Research Foundation. Several years ago a Hauser student, wanting to honor her grandmother, who was battling breast cancer, suggested that Hauser participate in this fundraiser. Last year Hauser students and staff collected over 900 labels for this worthwhile cause. Pink lids can be given to Ms. Brabec or placed in her mailbox in the Hauser office.



Buy an Ames Engraved Paver

PRIDE Garage Sale Saturday

garagesaleReminder: The annual Hauser PRIDE garage sale will be held on Saturday, February 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Proceeds from the sale go toward the cost of the 8th grade PRIDE trip to Louisville, Kentucky. This year, ninety-six of Hauser’s 8th graders will be attending the conference from April 8 to April 11.



Friends of the Fourth Seek Support

usflagDue to budget cuts in the Village of Riverside, funding for 4th of July festivities has been eliminated. As a result, a group of local citizens have formed a committee, “Friends of the Fourth,” to save these activities. The Friends of the Fourth are asking for donations to raise $30,000 to be used for the 4th of July events. To make a donation in person, go to Riverside Bank, 17 E. Burlington Street. To mail in a donation, address a check to Friends of the Fourth and mail it to P.O. Box 26, Riverside, IL 60546.
