The annual Hauser Scholastic Book Fair kicks off tomorrow morning, January 20, at 7:45 a.m. with books, posters, and other fun stuff for everyone. Your kids can visit and buy items before and after school on Wednesday and Thursday, with their Language Arts teacher on Thursday, and the whole family can shop (and get some great books and buys) when the Fair is open during the Hauser Family Dinner on Thursday evening.

Just added! The Book Fair will remain open one extra morning. Your last chance to find great books will be Friday morning before school. Come by between 7:45 and 8:45.

Hauser PTA donates all proceeds from the book fair to purchasing new books for Hauser’s Library. Please support our efforts and stop by the auditorium to select a book to purchase for your winter reading pleasure.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, January 20 and Thursday, January
21, including shopping during the Hauser Family Dinner. Purchases can be made in cash, by
check, or with a credit/debit card.

As students grow older, it is so important to keep books in their lives. Students who remain
readers now are more likely to be lifelong learners. Readers develop larger vocabularies, a
greater knowledge of the world, and higher academic achievement. In fact, studies indicate that
being a reader is more predictive of success than intelligence, economic background, or
gender.

Our Book Fair provides a wide variety of books specifically selected to appeal to middle school
interests. Students will discover books that are entertaining, inspirational, and a resource for
dealing with emerging emotions. In addition, our Fair will have bestsellers that adults will find
interesting and useful.

We encourage you to discuss the Book Fair with your child to determine what books he or she
may want to add to their personal collection.

A few more volunteers are needed to help run the Hauser Book Fair, January 19-21. On the January 19, we need help at 9:00 to set up; on January 20, help is needed from 3:15 to 4:00; and on January 21, help is needed from 7:45 to 8:45 am, from 3:15 to 4:00, and at any time during the Family Dinner.

The Central Book Fair will be held Tuesday, March 31, through Friday, April 3, with books available for all ages. Hauser students and parents are invited to stop in the Hauser Auditorium to shop for books between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. any day of the sale.
