There are 2 items due tomorrow, Friday, March 5, for 8th grade students: Bradford Woods paperwork for the 8th grade Cougar ADVANCE class trip, and Lifetouch graduation photo orders.

8th grade parents: This is just a reminder that the RB pre-registration meeting is tonight, March 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the RB Auditorium. Your student will receive the results from the placement exams. According to RB, at least one parent of all incoming 9th grade students must attend this meeting.

Eighth grade parents can purchase space in the back of the Hauser yearbook with a personal message to their student. This information was posted on the Hauser e-backpack, but in case you missed it, the form is available here. The ads are arranged 8 per page (approximately 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″), and cost $25 (no photo) or $30 (with photo). The deadline is Friday, February 12.

Any 8th grade student who missed the placement testing on January 9 should contact April Englehart, RB Student Services, at engleharta@rbhs208.org. There will be a make-up test available on January 16 at 8:00 a.m., but you must contact Ms. Englehart to register for that test.

On Sunday, January 31, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., RB is sponsoring an event for 7th & 8th grade students. At the “Day of Champions” there will be games and competitions in Wall climbing, Swimming, Tug-o-war, Shuttle runs, Weight lifting, Passing accuracy, and more. Parents of 8th grade students are reminded that the RB placement test for 8th graders going to RB next year will be held on Saturday, January 9, at 8:00 a.m., at Riverside Brookfield High School. 8th grade students should come to the new main RB door on Golf Road no later than 8:00. They will be directed to the cafeteria where they will be divided into groups and assigned to a classroom for testing. The testing takes two hours and covers English, Math, Science, and Reading. (Foreign language tests are given later in the spring at Hauser.) All students should bring a calculator and two #2 pencils. The testing, in conjunction with Hauser teacher assessments, helps RB determine in which classes to place freshmen. Students will receive their test results at the pre-registration meeting (for parents and students) on March 3, where class options will be discussed. Students who have an unavoidable conflict or illness on January 9 should contact April Englehart, RB Student Services, at engleharta@rbhs208.org.
