School Supplies
Posted May 22 2009 | Category: Community Events, News
Hauser students will be collecting “recycled” school supplies for children in Jamaica. Ed Mach, a science teacher who dedicated 38 years of service to the Hauser community, is coordinating this drive. A majority of the supplies will go to the Howard Cooke Primary School in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and some of the supplies will go to schools in Ocho Rios. Supplies that Mr. Mach cannot get to Jamaica will be given to the Firman House Community Center, located near the Robert Taylor Homes in Chicago.
Any interested Hauser student may donate their pens, pencils, markers, rulers, loose-leaf paper, calculators, scissors, partially used spiral notebooks, old gym shoes, etc. Three ring binders WILL NOT be sent.
The collection boxes will be placed in the hallways on Thursday, May 28. Please encourage your child to save our landfills and help out those less fortunate.
