Attention 8th Grade Parents

The RB Placement Exam, for current 8th grade students, will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009. The test will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 10:45 a.m. The outside doors at RB will open at 7:45 a.m. To determine the most appropriate classes for freshmen RB requires all incoming ninth graders to take the placement test. All students should bring two #2 pencils and a calculator. If your student is unable to attend on this date, please call Ms. Englehart at the RB Student Services Office by Wednesday, January 7, 2009.

On Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., RB will hold a Pre-registration Informational Meeting in the RB Auditorium. This is an extremely important informational meeting, and at least one parent of an incoming eighth grader must attend. Using test data received from the placement exam and 8th grade teacher recommendations, the Department Chairs will make placement recommendations in English, Math, Science and Foreign Language. These recommendations will be given to you that evening for your student. You will also have the opportunity to hear from the department chairs about specific courses. Additionally, you will receive a packet that evening that will include information about the registration process, course selections, and your appointment time for registration, which will be held Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
