8th grade students returned to Hauser today to find a new organization in place for P.E. Last year, Ms. Kempe taught three boys’ and three girls’ P.E. classes. Due to a significant increase in Hauser’s enrollment, this organization no longer works across the schedule; therefore, we have instituted co-ed P.E. classes at the 8th grade level only. Most middle schools today offer only co-ed P.E. and Ms. Kempe had a very positive experience working within a co-ed structure at her previous school. She is excited for the new opportunities this will offer our students. This year will be a learning year for us regarding co-ed P.E. for 8th graders. I welcome your comments and suggestions to help make our program the best it can be. Thank you for your flexibility regarding this late change in our procedure.
Please ask your child for handouts they received at Hauser today. All teams have sent letters and updated supply lists home.
If you have a 6th grade student and did not receive a mailing regarding Lorado Taft last week, please call the Hauser office to request the Lorado Taft packet.
Classmates from the L.J. Hauser Jr. High Class of 1988 have decided to hold a reunion to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of their graduation–perhaps the first of its kind according to the Hauser administration. The reunion will be held rain or shine at the Scout Cabin on Fairbanks Road near Indian Gardens in Riverside on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 3pm. An 80-100 pound pig will be roasted on-site and there will be fun activities for adults and children alike. Fully catered pig roast spread and beverages will be provided. The suggested donation is $50 per adult to defray expenses. Anyone who attended District 96 (Ames, Blythe, Central, Hollywood or Hauser) and graduated (or should have graduated) 8th grade in 1988 is welcome. Significant others and children of classmates are encouraged to attend as well. RSVPs are requested by September 1. For information or to RSVP, please contact Andrew Gardner.
