Traffic safety procedures are especially important during winter weather. Please remember to pull up to the curb to drop off students. No double parking is permitted at any time, and have your children cross the streets only at the lights. Cutting through the Hauser/Central parking lot is not allowed. Thank you for helping to keep all of our children safe.

Locks Required on Hauser Lockers

Parents: Please remind your children that locks are required on all lockers (hall and gym) at Hauser. Some items have gone missing from lockers in recent weeks. We encourage students to take steps to keep from being an easy target. Also, please do not allow your students to bring expensive items such as electronic devices to school.

To All HAUSER Pasta Night volunteers:

We would like to thank everyone who helped to make Pasta Night such a success! To our Pasta Night Committee for all of the creative ideas for transforming the cafeteria into a cozy Italian-themed bistro, The Village Pub (for the great meal ), Turano Bakery (for the loaves of French bread for our tables), Pam Liska, Mary Lou Taccola and all of the moms who baked for or manned the AWESOME dessert tables (the make your own sundaes were a BIG hit), to all who donated or solicited donations for our great selection of raffle prizes, and to the many parent and student volunteers who donated their time to this event! We would also like to thank everyone who braved the cold to come out and support their school on Thursday night–whether it was for the basketball game, book sale, or Pasta dinner, it all adds up to SCHOOL SPIRIT!

Thanks so much,
Fran Guerrieri & Val McCarthy

Join Us at Survivor Karaoke

This information was originally posted on January 24, 2008. Please note that the article refers to events from a previous school year.

Survivor Karaoke! On Friday, January 25, student groups will compete against each other while presenting choreographed singing acts. There is $2 admission charge at the door (parents and siblings welcome also) and snacks will be sold, with the profits donated to the “Nothing but Nets” organization. Students may monetarily support their favorite group during lunch, and donations will be accepted during the event.

Survivor Karaoke is a fund-raising event created four years ago to raise funds for the Tsunami disaster. Since then, money raised has been sent to help students in Pass Christian who were affected by Hurricane Katrina. This year all the money raised will be donated to “Nothing but Nets,” an United Nations sponsored organization that provides mosquito netting to families in Africa in hopes of stopping the spread of malaria.

On Thursday, January 24, from 5 to 7 pm, the Hauser cafeteria will be transformed into an Italian restaurant! What better way to spend a cold, snowy evening than browsing through a vast selection of wonderful books and sitting down to a delicious, pasta dinner without having to go through the trouble of preparing a meal? The Village Pub will be providing a complete dinner and we have a great selection of desserts in store…including a ‘make your own’ ice-cream sundae bar! We also have a nice selection of raffle prizes if you are feeling lucky. We could use a few more items for the kid’s table and will accept any late donations until early Thursday afternoon. Please come out and support your school, add to your library, and satisfy your appetite all in one place….HAUSER JR. HIGH!
