2007-2008 PTA Slate Announcement

The Hauser PTA Nominating Committee announces its slate of officers for the 2007-2008 school year:

Parliamentarian: Michelle Hejna

The election will be held at the April 18th regular meeting, which begins at 6 pm in the Hauser LRC. (Please note this is a new date.)

School Calendar for 2007-2008, Draft 3

One additional change has been made to the proposed District 96 calendar for the 2007-2008 school year. A teacher institute day is now scheduled for Monday, August 27, and students would begin school on Tuesday, August 28. The last day of school would be Thursday, June 5 rather than Wednesday, June 4. The proposed school calendar is one of the items on the Board of Education agenda for its March 20 meeting.

District 96 has created a beautiful new online calendar, so far covering March and April. Each school’s activities are color coded and you can customize the calendar to show you only the events at the school(s) of interest to you. You can find it on the district website.



Important Calendar Changes

The 5th-6th grade orientation, originally scheduled for April 11, has been moved to April 18th. This parents-only meeting will begin at 7pm in the Hauser Auditorium.

The Hauser PTA meeting has also been moved from April 11 to April 18. The meeting will begin at 6 pm in the Hauser library. Hauser Principal Leslie Berman and Counselor Kevin Wolf will discuss the importance of parental involvement during the middle school/junior high years, and we’ll highlight some of the volunteer opportunities available next year. Mr. Wolf will also talk to parents about his role as counselor at Hauser. Parents of incoming 6th graders are welcome and encouraged to attend. A light meal will be served.

Concerned about traffic safety at Hauser? The first meeting of the Traffic Safety Study Group is Wednesday, March 21st from 10:30-11:30 am. If you’d like to be part of it, contact Mary Jo Robling at maryjo_robling@hotmail.com.

Please note the District 96 calendar is wrong for the month of July. The entire month is off by one day, i.e. July 1st is a Sunday, not a Monday as appears on the calendar.

Freshman Orientation at R-B is August 15th. The first full day of school is August 20th.
