HONORING ALL WHO HAVE SERVED
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10 8:45 A.M.

Students are asked to invite veterans or anyone who served in the armed forces to attend our program. We want to honor our veterans and armed forces personnel at the program. Students will introduce their guest at the program. Please return this form to Mrs. Gill or email the information to her at gillp@district96.org by Wednesday, November 8. The program is more meaningful when we have veterans/armed forces persons present.

Veterans are invited to attend a reception following the program in the LRC. Mrs. Gill will be making a “HONORING THOSE WHO SERVED” display case. If you have pictures, or small items (such as hats, medals, pins, ) that can be put in the display please give them to Mrs. Gill by Monday November 6. Please label the items with your name.

Enrollment in District 96 has been on the rise for several years and is expected to continue to rise. We are facing space and class size issues as a result. D96 Superintendent Jon Lamberson is putting together a group of parents and staff members to study enrollment issues and possible solutions. This committee will meet twice a month between November 2006 and April 2007, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Each D96 school will have two representatives on the committee.

If you are interested in being part of this committee, please email Mary Jo Robling at maryjo_robling@hotmail.com. If you have expertise that would be relevant to the committee, please be sure to mention that as well. Questions? Contact Mary Jo Robling via email at maryjo_robling@hotmail.com.

Permission slips were sent home in backpacks several days ago for Freaky Friday - an evening of laser video dancing, games, and other fun activities for all students at Hauser and Komarek. This event takes place Friday, October 27, from 7-10 pm, and is sponsored by the North Riverside Police and Recreation Departments. If your child wants to attend, you must sign a permission slip and return it along with $2.00 to the Hauser office on or before October 23. Didn’t get a permission slip? Your child may pick one up in the Hauser office or you may download one from our website in PDF or Microsoft Word format.

Hauser parents are needed to help chaperone this event. If you can help, please fill out the appropriate line on the permission slip and return to the PTA office or send an email to news@hauserpta.org.

Questions? Contact Sue at the North Riverside Recreation Department: 442-5515.

Reflections Entries Due November 27

Posted Oct 13, 2006 | Category: Reflections

This information was originally posted on . Please note that the article refers to events from a previous school year.

All Hauser students are encouraged to participate in Reflections, a PTA sponsored national creative arts competition. This year’s theme is My Favorite Place . . . Entries can be in one of four categories: visual art, literature, photography, and musical composition. It does not matter whether an entry has been created as a classroom assignment or independently at home.

Entries from Hauser are submitted to our local PTA district. Winners at the district level will be displayed at the district PTA conference. District winners will go on to the state level, and state winners will go on to the national level. Each PTA is allowed 10 entries per category. If Hauser PTA receives more than 10 entries for a given category, a nonpartisan judge will determine which ones will be submitted to our district. The deciding factor will be adherence to the theme.

You will find more information - including a complete list of rules, tips for getting started, and FAQs - at the National PTA website.

Questions? Contact Pat Rohm via email at darohms@att.net.
