Thank you to Ms. Berman and Dr. Lamberson, everyone who sent questions, and all who attended last night’s PTA meeting and participated in our Q&A. It was a good exchange of information.
Communication between home and school is important, and you don’t have to wait for events like our meeting last night before it happens. Any time you have a question about what is happening in school, please ask. If it is about a particular class, ask that teacher first. If you have a more general question about what happens at Hauser, contact Ms. Berman or Ms. Westin. If you are wondering about district policy, get in touch with Dr. Lamberson. Contact information for all of these people is available in a number of places, including the PTA calendar and the school/district websites.
It is human nature not to speak up unless you are unhappy. We encourage you to also communicate when things are going well! When was the last time you sent an e-mail telling a teacher how much your child enjoys his or her class? or a thank you for spending extra time or effort helping your student? Have you told your administrators that you’ve noticed a particular teacher is doing a fantastic job? We encourage you to reach out to someone at the school with a positive message. Don’t wait for teacher appreciation week to let them know you’re pleased.

Next Wednesday, February 3, please join us in the Hauser Library at 7:00 pm for our PTA meeting.
This month’s meeting will feature a Q&A session with Dr. Lamberson and Ms. Berman. Have you been wondering about the new writing initiative? specific Hauser or district policies? how the laptop program will work at Hauser next year? where kids who go in for band at 7:20 wind up when the next group shows up at 8? Now is the time to ask. To insure that all questions can be answered in full at the meeting, please e-mail your question to Lisa Aulerich-Marciniak by the end of this week. (Note: use this link to send your e-mail as there was a typo in the on-line HiLines.)

The election will be held at our April meeting, when, in accordance to our bylaws, nominations will also be accepted from the floor. Officers elected in April will be installed at the May meeting.
The complete meeting agenda will be posted prior to the meeting next week.
